Fifth graders started off the year strong by testing out our some of our new instruments: the Boomwhackers.
We learned a song called "The One Minute Boomwhacker Piece." It is created entirely out of layered ostinatos (repeating patterns). Students learned the rhythm of each color Boomwhacker and then we layered them together to create the final product.
We used a chart to help us see how each rhythm fit together.
